NGI stimulates genomics research within the following themes: Food, Health, Sustainability and Enabling technologies. Furthermore, NGI encourages an open and imaginative dialogue on social and cultural impact of genomics.

Thanks to substantial government funds and contributions of the participating universities, research institutes and companies, NGI has been able to set up a high-grade, efficient infrastructure for genomics research within less than five years.
