Dr. Pim Lindhout got his Master of Science degree in biology and in chemistry at Leiden University in 1980. In 1985 he received his PhD in Molecular Virology at the same university. In 1985 he became senior researcher at the Institute for Horticultural Plant Breeding (Instituut voor de Veredeling van Tuinbouwgewassen; nowadays Plant Research International) in Wageningen, The Netherlands. Since 1994 he was Associate Professor for Plant Breeding at the Wageningen University . Between 2001 and 2003 he was the coordinator of the WU Bachelor and Master studies in Plant Sciences & Plant Biotechnology. He has written more than 90 scientific papers since 1980. His most recent publication in 2007: Finkers, R., Van Heusden, A. W., Meijer-Dekens, F., Van Kan, J., Maris, P. & Lindhout, P. (2007). The construction of a Solanum habrochaites LYC4 intorgression line population and the identification of QTLs for resistance to Botrytis cinerea. Theor. Appl. Genet. 114, 1071-1080. In 2006 he got his present position as director Research and Development at the vegetable seed company De Ruiter Seeds in The Netherlands. | |
